Reading Habit Loops in Product Data
Power users form routines. Analytics can reveal the trigger, action, and reward without guessing.
Look for repeating sequences with short gaps: open → locate → act → confirm. When that loop shortens over time, habit is forming. When steps lengthen or skip, friction is winning.
Compare power-user loops to casual-user loops on the same job. Differences often point to missing shortcuts, unclear defaults, or alerts that interrupt flow.
Treat the loop map as a product brief, not a slide. Each broken step should own a hypothesis and a measurable fix.
